Two people have been charged with drug offences after police searched a house in Cherbourg on Monday afternoon.

Police executed the search warrant at the Bligh Street residence about 4:20pm.

They allegedly located various drugs and items used in connection with dangerous drugs.

A 25-year-old Cherbourg woman and a 36-year-old Cherbourg man were charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils or pipes that had been used and failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe.

They will both appear in Cherbourg Magistrates Court on March 25.

Property

  • Between 10:00pm on February 21 and 7:00am on February 22, a rock was used to smash a window of a vehicle parked in Dutton Street East, Murgon. No items were removed from the vehicle.
  • Between 10:00pm on February 22 and 9:15am on February 23, a window of a vehicle parked in Cobb Street North, Murgon, was smashed. No items were removed from this vehicle, either.
  • A 17-year-old Byee girl is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after she was caught allegedly shoplifting from a business in Lamb Street, Murgon, on February 25.
  • Between 6:30am and 7:00am on February 27, rocks were thrown at a residence in Barber Street, Cherbourg, causing damage.

Traffic

  • A 20-year-old Murgon man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on March 10 charged with drink-driving after police intercepted a vehicle in Gore Street, Murgon, on February 22.

Police from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai responded to a variety of incidents between February 21-28 including drug, traffic and property offences. They also attended 10 calls related to domestic violence, issued eight infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 189 roadside breath tests.
