A 47-year-old Nanango man has been charged after an incident on Monday which has left his younger brother in a critical condition in hospital.
The alleged assault occurred in Nanango on Monday afternoon.
Police will allege that about 3:15pm two men became involved in an altercation during which one of them was kneed in the head.
Emergency services attended the Chester Street home and the injured man, aged 41, was transported to Kingaroy Hospital.
He was later airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The 47-year-old has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and was due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Thursday.
