World Day of Prayer – an interdenominational Christian celebration – will be celebrated in the South Burnett on Friday, March 6.
The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement started by women which is celebrated annually in more than 170 countries on the first Friday in March.
In the South Burnett, the host venue for each town’s celebration rotates annually between different church denominations.
Every year, the worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme.
This year the ecumenical service has been prepared by the Christian women of Zimbabwe with the theme “Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk” .
The women from Zimbabwe are taking the Gospel story as a call to act now for peace and reconciliation.
