An elderly woman has been targeted by a callous thief while a patient at Nanango Hospital.

Nanango Police received a report on January 13 that a large sum of money had been stolen from the 70-year-old woman’s personal belongings.

The incident occurred between January 8-9.

Police investigations are continuing.

A 31-year old Nanango man will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on February 17 after police received a complaint that a red Holden Commodore was doing a burnout near Drayton and Fitzroy streets, Nanango.

The incident allegedly occurred about 8:10pm on January 11.

Police say the driver lost control and the vehicle came to a stop before being driven down Drayton Street through a red light at the intersection with Henry Street.

A 34-year old Ningi woman will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on February 6 after police spotted a silver Ford Falcon stranded on the centre island in Drayton Street, Nanango.

The vehicle was put into reverse and drive several times but was not moving.

Police allege the driver refused to provide a breath test at the roadside; she was then transported to Kingaroy Police Station where she again allegedly refused to provide breath for analysis.
