Police have charged a 20-year-old Wondai man and a 24-year-old Murgon man after alleged break-and-enters at businesses in Wondai and Kingaroy.

Police allege about 9:50pm on New Year’s Eve, the men allegedly attempted to break into a business in Kingaroy before being interrupted by witnesses.

About 1030pm, the same night, the men allegedly broke into a Wondai business by using a steel pole to smash a glass window. Again, they were interrupted.

Police from Murgon intercepted a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses and two men were arrested.

The men were charged with break and enter with intent and will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 21.

Police have charged a 30-year-old Murgon man after he allegedly assaulted a woman walking in Murgon.

It will be alleged a woman and a boy were approached by the man, who allegedly punched and kicked the woman in the head.

A woman also approached and rummaged through the victim’s handbag before fleeing.

The victim received medical treatment after the incident.

The man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates court on January 21.
