The hunt is continuing for a 29-year-old Tara man who was the target of a police operation in Kingaroy last Thursday.

Police received a tip-off that the man, who was wanted for questioning in relation to an alleged assault in Tara, could be staying at a house in Haly Street.

A large group of plainclothes and uniformed police attended the address as there were fears the man might be armed, however he was not located.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said people at the address were detained while the house was searched.

Police allegedly located 12 cannabis plants during this operation.

An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 6 charged with producing dangerous drugs.

The Tara man is wanted for questioning in relation to an incident in which a man suffered head injuries in Tara on November 8.

A 30-year-old Tara man is already facing charges over this incident.
