A disturbance in a house in Taylor Street East in Murgon – which tied up police resources for several hours – was resolved without incident on Friday afternoon.

Police and other emergency services converged on the house about 11:30am after suggestions an armed man was holed up inside.

Taylor Street East was closed from Watt Street to Perkins Street as a precaution while police attempted to speak to the man.

Graham House staff put the nearby complex into lockdown as the incident unfolded.

Police media told they had no information about a “siege” in the area, just a “disturbance”.

The stand-off was resolved at 1:30pm.
