Proston Golf Club has a fun day planned for this Saturday for both golfers and non-golfers.
And it’s all in the name of a good cause … Breast Cancer Trials, formerly known as the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia.
Serious golfers will tee-off in the morning.
After a barbecue lunch, the almost-golfers and never-done-it-before types will take to the greens for a “hit and a giggle”.
“It will be a fun afternoon,” spokesperson Margaret Westerman said.
There will be a pig-on-the-spit dinner, auction and raffles in the evening.
Margaret warned that anyone not wearing pink on the day would be fined (with local councillor Kathy Duff collecting the fines …).
Margaret said she wanted to thank the local community for their generous support for the day.
Tracy and Peter Anderson, from Hivesville, have donated the pig which was butchered and dressed by on-farm butcher Josh Retschlag.
Cindy Weaver, from Brigooda, will be doing the cooking.
Margaret said that all up, the Proston Golf Club fundraiser had received about $6000 worth of sponsorship, including just under $3000 in cash donations.
Everyone is welcome to come along. For more details, phone Craig on 0478-413-191.
