UPDATE: Police located Mr Senescall in bushland on Monday morning. A police spokesperson said he was now safe and thanked everyone who assisted in the search.

Police are co-ordinating a search for a 47-year-old local man who failed to return from a walk on Saturday at Okeden, near Proston.

Jason Senescall was last seen on Boondooma Dam Lookout Road about 9:00am when he left a residence to go for a walk in nearby bushland.

Police and SES personnel are searching bushland, both on foot and in vehicles, with a Police Forward Command Post set up in the vicinity of Boondooma Dam Lookout Road.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter also joined in the search about 2:30pm, scouring bushland in the vicinity of Boondooma Dam, but couldn’t find any trace of the missing man.

Police are appealing for local residents to search their properties and sheds and anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Jason, who took no provisions with him (such as food and water), is described as Caucasian, about 180cm tall with a proportionate build, hazel eyes and dark, short brown hair.

It is unknown what he was wearing except for a red bucket hat.

The rescue helicopter scoured areas surrounding Boondooma Dam for around an hour.
