The Kingaroy Arts Team is inviting local artists to start preparing works for the biannual David Bryce Rural Art Award.
The competition, for artists living in regional council areas, features a total of $5000 in prize money.
It is held at the Kingaroy Art Gallery in memory of the late David Bryce, a well-known and respected Kingaroy artist who died on August 23, 2000.
The inaugural event was held in 2018.
The 2020 competition will feature four sections: Landscape ($1500 prize), Portrait ($1500), Sculpture ($1500) and Youth (aged 12-17 at the closing date, $500).
Works are to depict a current rural scene, person or activity – not represent an earlier time.
They must have been completed since March 2018.
Entries close on March 20, 2020, and must be delivered to the gallery between April 1-3.
They will be judged April 5-6 ahead of the official exhibition opening on April 11.
Application forms and more information is available at the Kingaroy Art Gallery.
