South Burnett Regional Council has temporarily closed Boughyard Creek Bridge at Ironpot for safety reasons.
A Council spokesperson said a recent inspection of the bridge, on Ironpot Road, had found a number of defects which could affect the integrity of the structure.
Repairs will begin next month with a sidetrack available for traffic to use.
They are expected to take about three months, weather permitting.
“Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage,” the spokesperson said.
