The female driver of a cattle truck escaped without injury when her semi-trailer rolled on the Burnett Highway, south of Goomeri, on Thursday morning.

Police, QAS and QFES were called to the single-vehicle crash at Barambah about 11:40am.

They found the truck tipped on the side of the road.

It was not blocking the highway but a number of cattle had escaped from the trailer.

Paramedics assessed the driver but she did not require transport to hospital.

It is not known how many cattle escaped but it is believed more than a dozen were either killed in the crash or later euthanased.

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane as emergency services attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said the incident occurred near the Kilcoy-Murgon Road turn-off.
