Yarraman and Cooyar residents have been invited to comment on a new Sport, Active Recreation and Healthy Living Plan for the Toowoomba Regional Council area.
TRC Environment and Community portfolio leader Cr Joe Ramia said the plan would identify and deliver policies, places and programs to support sport, active recreation and healthy living within the region.
“The plan will set the region’s vision and outline goals and actions focused on sport, active recreation and healthy living from 2019 to 2026,” he said.
“It will help create healthier, more active communities by encouraging more people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to be active, eat well and live well.
“More than 1000 community members including representatives from sports clubs, nature-based recreation organisations and walk and cycle groups helped shape the draft plan through completing surveys and attending workshops during the past 12 months.”
Council was now inviting community feedback on the draft plan.
“The community can have their say on the draft plan until Friday, October 25,” Cr Ramia said.
“Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas by completing an online survey at Council’s Your Say website. Hard copy surveys are also available at customer service centres.”
