Twelve people have been charged with drug offences in the Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai areas after recent police searches.
- A 24-year-old Emerald man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 16, charged with drug possession after police pulled over and searched a vehicle in Lamb Street, Murgon, about 11:35pm on August 18.
- A 26-year-old Murgon man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police searched a house in Watt Street, Murgon, on August 19.
- A 48-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police searched a house in Cobb Street, Murgon, on August 19.
- A 22-year-old Cherbourg woman will appear in Cherbourg Magistrates Court charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police searched a house in Barber Street, Cherbourg, on August 20.
- A 24-year-old Cherbourg man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court after police stopped and searched him in Barber Street, Cherbourg, on August 20 and allegedly located drug items.
- A 21-year-old Cherbourg woman will appear in Cherbourg Magistrates Court charged with possessing drug utensils and liquor in restricted area after police searched a home in Jerome Street, Cherbourg, on August 20.
- A 23-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on September 24 charged with possessing dangerous drugs after police stopped and searched her in Gore Street, Murgon, about 5:50pm on August 20.
- A 57-year-old Ballogie man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court charged with producing dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police searched a property on Chinchilla-Wondai Road, Ballogie, on August 21.
- A 32-year-old Greenview man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on September 24 charged with producing dangerous drugs after police searched a property in Lysdale Road, Greenview, on August 26.
- A 22-year-old Murgon man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court charged with possessing dangerous drugs after police stopped a searched a pedestrian in Palmer Street, Murgon, on August 28.
- About 1:25am on August 30, police stopped a vehicle in Barber Street, Cherbourg. Police have searched the vehicle, driver and passenger. A 22-year-old Murgon man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 1 charged with drug possession and a 23-year-old Murgon man will appear on the same day charged with unlicensed driving.
- A 34-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on September 24 charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police pulled over and searched a vehicle in Cosy Dell Lane, Wondai, about 10:05pm on September 6.
As well, three juveniles have been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act:
- A 14-year-old Inala boy found with drugs about 9:45pm on August 18 in Lamb Street, Murgon,
- A 17-year-old Cherbourg located with drug items during a search of a house in Barber Street, Cherbourg, about 6:50am on August 20, and
- A 14-year-old Kippa-Ring boy after a search of a house in Broadway Street, Cherbourg, on August 24.
