Detectives are investigating the assault and attempted robbery of a 79-year-old man in Cherbourg on Sunday afternoon.
About 4:30pm two teenagers entered a home in Hillview Street and demanded money from an elderly man.
When he refused, they struck the man with a piece of wood before running away.
Emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to Cherbourg Hospital for treatment to a laceration to his head.
