Avocados won’t be the only local produce on show at this year’s Blackbutt Avocado Festival

September 5, 2019

Fresh from success at BaconFest, Council’s economic development unit is now taking its “South Burnett Flavours” initiative to Blackbutt.

Business South Burnett will be promoting local produce at Blackbutt’s Avocado Festival on September 14.

“South Burnett Flavours is a great opportunity for local producers to market their wares with other like-minded producers,” a Council spokesperson said.

“Many stallholders at BaconFest were participating for the first time and have begun to establish a supportive network.

“The South Burnett Flavours initiative is a great opportunity for small, medium and large producers from the region to showcase their unique products and produce.

“While local products may be available for purchase in various outlets across the region, South Burnett Flavours brings these products together, complementing the region’s high quality food festivals.

“Blackbutt Avocado Festival will attract a large crowd again in 2019.

“Accessibility from Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba are great opportunities for local producers to extend their market reach.

“Potential stallholders for South Burnett Flavours will need to act quickly to secure a stand.

“Local producers should contact Council’s Economic Development Officer Kristy Board on (07) 4189-9100 or by email for more information.
