Wondai Wolves are hosting the annual Mini Mod rugby league carnival again this Saturday at Wondai Sportsground.
The event attracts scores of junior teams from across the Wide Bay region to play each other in U6s, U7s, U8s, U10s and U12s.
Teams from Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai, Murgon, Cherbourg and the Central Burnett will be playing this year against the Hervey Bay Seagulls, Maryborough Wallaroos, Maryborough Brothers, Burrum Miners, Gympie Devils and Eastern Suburbs Magpies in a round-robin style competition.
Mini Mod is an introductory form of rugby league with modified rules which emphasise skills development and having fun.
The 15-minute games (20 minutes for Under 12s) are played with a two-minute turnaround which gives spectators constant footy action across multiple fields.
The carnival is the brainchild of the Wondai-Proston JRL and this year has attracted almost 60 junior teams.
Games kick off at 8:30am.
The Under 12s Final is scheduled to start at 4:50pm.
