The South Burnett Saints AFL suffered a heartbreaking defeat on Saturday when the Suns snatched a last-minute one-point victory in an exciting game played at Chinchilla.
The Saints looked on target to notch up their second win of the season after leading throughout the game.
But their hopes were dashed in the dying minutes.
At half-time, the South Burnett visitors were ahead 7.5-47 to 5.2-32.
The sides were level-pegging in the third quarter – each kicking three goals – but the Saints still had a comfortable 16 point lead when the whistle blew.
But in the last quarter, the Chinchilla Suns booted home three goals while the Saints’ attempts only found behinds.
The final score was Chinchilla 11.6-72 to South Burnett 10.11-71.
South Burnett goals were kicked by Jordan Pressnell (3), Kieran Askin (2), Abram Cox (2), Daniel Trace (2) and James Johns.
The Saints’ next game will again be on the road, this time against University in Toowoomba on July 13.
The Saints’ women will also be in action against University on the same day.
