Fourteen people will face drug-driving charges after just a week of roadside tests in the Kingaroy area.

All those charged will appear in either Kingaroy or Murgon Magistrates courts:

  • June 24 – A 24-year-old Kingaroy man in Alford Street
  • June 24 – A 58-year-old Kingaroy woman in Alford Street
  • June 26 – A 23-year-old Runnymede man in William Street
  • June 26 – A 28-year-old Inverlaw man in Haly Street
  • June 26 – A 32-year-old Nanango woman on the Bunya Highway at Memerambi
  • June 29 – A 45-year-old Kingaroy man in Youngman Street
  • June 29 – A 47-year-old Kingaroy woman in Kingaroy Street
  • June 29 – A 25-year-old Kingaroy man in Kingaroy Street
  • June 29 – A 39-year-old Murgon man in Avoca Street
  • June 29 – A 27-year-old Kingaroy man in Youngman Street
  • June 29 – A 38-year-old Kingaroy man in First Avenue
  • June 29 – A 33-year-old Wattle Camp man in Haly Street
  • June 30 – A 35-year-old Nanango man in Youngman Street
  • June 30 – A 38-year-old Kingaroy woman in Jarrah Street

Other Traffic

  • A 31-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 19 charged with unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered vehicle after police conducting mobile patrols of Youngman and Sawtell streets about 10:00pm on June 23 spotted a Ford ute which looked to be abandoned. After investigations, police located the owner who allegedly admitted driving the vehicle.
  • Police are investigating reports of a ute driving up and down Buckingham Street – speeding and doing burnouts – in Kingaroy at 7:15pm on June 28.
  • A 24-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped a Hyundai sedan in River Road, Kingaroy, at 2:30pm on June 29.
  • A 25-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29  charged with drink-driving after police stopped a Toyota Hilux ute in Moonya Street, Kingaroy, at 11:45pm on June 29. He allegedly blew 0.09 BAC.

Property

Investigations are continuing into a number of thefts:

  • June 21 – A wallet was stolen from a park bench in Haly Street. The debit card from the wallet was later used several times.
  • June 21 – A man entered a Haly Street business inquiring about pallets and collar storage containers. He was told they weren’t for sale however he returned the following day and was seen driving off with the collars and a pallet in his Ford stationwagon.
  • June 25 – An equestrian bridle, harness, lead ropes, lunging whip, riding helmet and stock whip were stolen from a garage in Siefert Street at Crawford.
  • June 27 – Money was stolen from a home in Haly Street, Kingaroy.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between June 24-30 within the Kingaroy Police Division including drug, traffic, good order and property-related offences. They also attended five calls related to domestic violence, issued 33 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 97 roadside breath bests.
