Two people have been charged after police searched a house in Victoria Street, Kingaroy, last Thursday morning.

They allegedly found cannabis, methamphetamine, drug utensils and a knuckleduster.

A 29-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 1 charged with possessing drugs, drug utensils and property suspected of having been used in connection with drug use.

He has also been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

A 30-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear on the same day charged with possessing dangerous drugs.

An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 1 charged with drug possession after police allegedly found cannabis seeds in his backpack after they stopped him in King Street, Kingaroy, at 1:25am on June 9.

An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 1 charged with stealing and receiving tainted property. Police allege he had a football stolen from a local school when he was stopped by police in George Street at 9:10am on June 5.

Property

Investigations are continuing into a number of property-related offences:

  • May 30: A white Nissan utility pumped fuel from a service station in Knight Street before leaving without paying.
  • May 31: Thieves entered a home in Lara Court, Kingaroy, and stole a pair of Nike shoes.
  • June 3: A Mitsubishi Pajero was travelling along Haly Street, Kingaroy, when a pedestrian walked out in front of the vehicle and kicked the passenger door causing a dent, before running off.
  • June 4: A vehicle which had been towing a trailer was parked in Kingaroy Street for a short time when the owner noticed the tailgate and number plate were missing. The tailgate and number plate were intact when the owner had left home that morning.
  • June 7: A silver Holden wagon stopped at a Youngman Street service station; the driver pumped fuel and removed goods from the store before leaving without paying.

Traffic

  • A 27-year-old Greenview woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 5 charged with drug driving and unlicensed driving after police intercepted a Holden on the Bunya Highway on June 7.
  • A 30-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 8 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped his Holden Barina in Haly Street at 5:50pm on June 8.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between June 3-9 including drug, traffic, good order and property-related offences. They also attended five calls related to domestic violence, issued 20 infringement notices for life endangering traffic offences and performed 62 roadside breath tests.
