The 33 finalists who have been selected to contest the Darling Downs South West regional final of the 58th Queensland Training Awards have been announced, and there’s several South Burnett representatives among them.
The regional final will be held on July 26 at the Gatton Shire Hall.
The winners from this will then vie with finalists from across seven regions in the State final of the Queensland Training Awards which will be announced in Brisbane on September 14.
Cherbourg Council is among the finalists.
“This is wonderful recognition of the great strides we’ve made in encouraging learning and development and we look forward to finding out at the end of July who will take out the top spot in each category,” a spokesperson said.
“Best of luck to all the finalists!”
Training and Skills Development Minister Shannon Fentiman congratulated the competitors for reaching the regional final.
“Being selected as a regional finalist recognises their outstanding contribution to the State’s growth and economy and they should be proud of their achievements so far,” Ms Fentiman said.
“The Queensland Training Awards focuses the spotlight on the excellence that exists in the State’s training sector and supports our commitment to fostering skilled workforces.
“I encourage local community members to attend the regional final in Gatton to recognise and support their local finalists.”
The Queensland Training Awards are run by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training with the support of regional and State sponsors.
