Two women who went to the aid of a teenage girl who was screaming in the car park of a King Street business in Kingaroy will probably think twice before they offer assistance to anyone else.

Police allege the girl assaulted both women before running off.

The incident occurred at 4:15pm last Monday (May 27).

Police located the girl who then tried to flee before allegedly assaulting a police officer.

The teenager has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and obstructing a police officer and will be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Property 

Investigations are continuing into a number of property-related offences:

  • May 25, 11:50pm: A man travelling in a maroon Subaru sedan stopped at a Youngman Street business in Kingaroy and pumped fuel before driving off without paying.
  • May 26: A fire-fighter pump was stolen overnight from a premises on Foleys Road at Goodger.
  • May 27, 3:35am: A woman travelling in a blue Holden sedan pumped fuel at a Youngman Street business before leaving without paying.
  • May 27: An offender entered a Goodger Gully Road premises overnight and stole two five-bar gates.
  • May 27, 2:55pm: A man travelling in a grey Nissan X-Trail pumped fuel at a Kingaroy Street business before leaving without paying.
  • May 27, 1:00pm: A thief removed two pairs of shoes from a box in front of an Alford Street, Kingaroy, business without paying for them.
  • May 31: Sometime between May 13-31, a lock on the rear door of a Kingaroy Street business was broken. Windows were also broken and property strewn throughout.

Traffic

  • May 29, 12:30pm: A vehicle attempting to turn left on to Haly Street from Jarrah Street was struck by a bicycle rider allegedly travelling east in the westbound lanes. The rider was taken to hospital for observation. Investigations are continuing.
  • June 1, 11:55pm: A 44-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped his Hyundai sedan in Booth Street, Kingaroy.

Good Order

  • May 26, 10:30pm: A 14-year-old Kingaroy girl allegedly became involved in a dispute with a woman, causing damage to the kitchen and bedroom at an address in Premier Drive, Kingaroy. She has been charged with wilful damage and will be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
  • June 2, 12:55am: Police were conducting patrols in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, when they observed a 26-year-old Blackbutt man who appeared to be intoxicated. The man allegedly swore at police before attempting to resist arrest and run away. He appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29 charged with obstructing police and committing a public nuisance offence in the vicinity of licensed premises.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between May 27 and June 2 including drug, traffic, good order and property-related offences. They also attended five calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued five infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 25 roadside breath tests.
