A 17-year-old youth and a 10-year-old girl are being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after two more vehicles were stolen in separate incidents in the South Burnett.

Between 8:00pm on May 11 and 7:00am the next day, a thief found keys inside an unlocked vehicle in Stephens Street, Murgon, and drove off.

Police located the vehicle in Cherbourg on May 13.

About 8:40pm on May 16, a vehicle was stolen from an address on Scott Street, Wondai.

Police located the vehicle a short time later in Byee.

Property

  • May 10 – About 4:00pm, a woman entered a business in Lamb Street, Murgon, and allegedly stole an item from a shelf. A 45-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court  on June 4 charged with stealing.
  • Between May 1-15, unknown thieves damaged a door at an address in Seiler Road, Ballogie, gained entry and stole personal items.
  • May 11 – Between 3:00pm and 4:30pm, a girl gained entry to a business in Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg, and allegedly damaged property. A 14-year-old Cherbourg girl is being dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
  • Between 11:00pm on May 11 and midnight, unknown offenders damaged a window to gain entry to a business in Macalister Street, Murgon.
  • May 13 – About 9:40pm, unknown offenders approached a business in Fisher Street, Cherbourg, and attempted to gain entry through a rear door before leaving.
  • May 14 – Between 1:00am and 2:00am, offenders gained entry by damaging a window to a business in Fisher Street, Cherbourg. Once inside, they damaged property before departing. A 15-year-old Garbutt boy is being dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
  • May 14 – About 11:30am, unknown thieves entered a business in Lamb Street, Murgon, and removed items from a shelf. The offenders then allegedly hid the items on their persons and left the store.
  • May 14 – About 11:30am, a woman allegedly stole items from a business in Lamb Street, Murgon. A 33-year-old Cherbourg woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on June 4, charged with unauthorised dealing with shop goods.
  • May 15 – About 10:30pm, unknown offenders approached a business in Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg, and damaged multiple windows, attempting to gain entry.
  • May 16 – About 10:20am, unknown thieves entered a business on Lamb Street, Murgon, and stole various items from the shelves.

Traffic

  • A 29-year-old Ginoondan man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on June 11 charged with drink-driving after police stopped a vehicle at 9:30am on May 12 on Mundubbera-Durong Road at Durong.
  • A 28-year-old Newtown man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on June 18 charged with drink-driving after police stopped a vehicle on Aberdeen Avenue, Durong, about 8:00am on May 12.
  • A 32-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped a vehicle on the Bunya Highway at Murgon about 8:40am on May 14.
  • A 51-year-old Wondai man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on June 18 charged with drink-driving after police stopped a vehicle on the Bunya Highway at Wondai about 7:00pm on May 15.

Police from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai responded to a variety of incidents between May 10-17 including drug, traffic and property offences. They also attended 11 calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued six infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 210 roadside breath tests.
