Two Yarraman community groups will benefit from the latest round of Toowoomba Regional Council’s Community Grant Program.
Yarraman & District Historical Society will receive funding to have four security cameras supplied and installed at the Yarraman Heritage Centre (Heritage House); and Yarraman Memorial Hall Society will be given a grant to buy furniture for use at community events.
In total, TRC allocated almost $390,000 to 68 groups across the Toowoomba region under Round 2 of the program.
Cr Geoff McDonald said he was pleased Council had been able to provide assistance to groups.
“We understand the difficulties community and not-for profit groups have to find money for projects, services and facilities and Council’s Community Grant Program is in place to provide assistance,” he said.
“This is a great program Council offers and I encourage more groups to speak with Council officers ahead of the next round of funding, which opens on July 1, for guidance around applications.”
