There’s a group of local women who now have no excuse when their partners ask them to check the oil … they know exactly what’s under the bonnet!

Kingaroy Police held their second “Under The Bonnet” night for women at Bill Hull Car Centre in Kingaroy on Tuesday evening, and almost two dozen women booked in to attend.

The evening was hosted by Senior-Constable Samantha Giles, from Kingaroy Police, and Senior-Constable Selina Arthur, from Kumbia Station.

Two Bill Hull employees, service manager Mark Wearne and technician Tim Lavender, also added their expertise.

The women learned how to top up the oil and change a tyre, as well as personal and road safety strategies.

There was also a timely reminder ahead of the Easter holiday break about the Fatal Five, ie. speeding, seatbelts, drink and drug driving, fatigue and distraction.

And to top it all off … free supper and soft drinks!
