Kingaroy police are investigating a traffic crash which occurred in Clark and Swendson Road in Kingaroy on Saturday night.

Investigations revealed a dark-coloured vehicle turned from Harris Road into Clark and Swendson Road.

Police believe the vehicle was travelling at excessive speed and drifted off the road, damaging a cream-coloured residential fence before driving off from the scene.

The damage was discovered the next morning by the owners.

Police were called to a home in Glendon Street, Kingaroy, at 6:45pm on April 8, after residents found a man inside lying on the lounge.  

Police located a 37-year-old Kingaroy man who was subsequently arrested.

On April 11, police allegedly located the same man in a vacant Youngman Street home.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 5 charged with trespass.

Police are investigating the theft of about $200 worth of groceries from Woolworth’s supermarket in Kingaroy on April 9.

About 1:00pm, a woman pretended to scan items before leaving the store.

She is described has having a dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair and was wearing black, knee-length shorts and a grey T-shirt with two black stripes on each sleeve.

She was carrying a terracotta-coloured hand bag.

Thefts

  • Police are investigating the theft of fuel from a business in First Avenue, Kingaroy, at the weekend. The thief slid under a gate at night and stole six fuel drums.
  • Police are also investigating the theft of property from the rear of a Holden ute in a public car park between noon on April 4 and 9:45pm on April 14. A tool box, winch and ratchet straps were stolen as well as a registration plate, 898-WCN.

Drugs

  • A 37-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 13 charged with unlicensed driving, and a 29-year-old Cherbourg woman will appear on the same day charged with drug possession, after police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan in Avoca Street, Kingaroy, at 12:05am on Sunday. Police also impounded the vehicle and will apply for it to be forfeited to the State.
  • A 30-year-old Wattle Camp man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 6 charged with drug possession after police stopped a Suzuki Hatchback in Barbara Street, Kingaroy, at 1:30am on Sunday. They allegedly located a small quantity of amphetamine.

Fraud

  • A 28-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 7 charged with making a false declaration after a traffic incident. The man had been issued with a traffic infringement notice in person but later allegedly provided a false declaration stating another person had the been the driver at the time.

Good Order

  • A 30-year-old Kingaroy woman was issued with an infringement notice for committing a public nuisance offence ($130 fine) after an incident in Glendon Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday night. Police allege that despite numerous warnings regarding her behaviour, the woman continued to be abusive and aggressive.

Kingaroy police responded to a variety of incidents between April 8-14 including fraud, drug, offences against the person, traffic, and property-related offences. They also attended eight domestic violence incidents.
