Kingaroy Police are investigating the theft of two motorcycles from the rear of a business in Haly Street last weekend.

The Yamaha YZ85 and Yamaha YZF520 were taken overnight on Friday, March 8.

Investigations into the thefts are continuing.

A 29-year Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with supplying a dangerous drug (amphetamine), possessing drugs and possessing a drug utensil.

He was arrested at an address in Harris Road on March 11 following investigations linked to Operation Oklahoma.

A 30-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 1 charged with drug possession and possessing a drug utensil after police searched a residence in Kingaroy Street on March 14 . They allegedly located a small quantity of cannabis.

Property Offences

  • March 11 – Police are investigating the theft of registration plates, 999-VFE, from a Nissan stationwagon at a Kingaroy Street car yard. The offence occurred at some time over the previous weekend.
  • March 13 – Police are investigating a report that offenders smashed a sliding laundry door at a Steele Court house in Kingaroy. No entry was gained.
  • Between 1:00pm on March 15 and 1:50pm on March 16, unknown people attempted to break into a Haly Street, Kingaroy, residence. The offenders removed two louvres from a window but were unable to open the door as the deadbolt was secured.
  • Between 8:00pm and 11:00pm on March 16, a break-and-enter occurred at a residence in Glendon Street, Kingaroy. The thief took a gold ring and prescription medication. It is unknown how entry was gained to the residence.
  • March 17 – Police are investigating the theft of outdoor furniture from two houses overnight. A wicker outdoor setting was stolen from a Barron Street residence and a timber bench seat was stolen from an Oasis Street address.

Traffic

  • March 13 – Police intercepted a 45-year-old Benarkin woman driving a Holden on Haly Street, Kingaroy, about 3:00pm. The woman was issued an infringement notice for the offence of disqualified driving ($260).
  • March 16 – Police intercepted a 36-year-old Zillmere man at 5:20pm driving a Mazda on Haly Street, Kingaroy. Police will allege he struggled violently when police tried to arrest him. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with unlicensed driving and obstructing police.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between March 11-17 including drug, traffic, and property-related offences. They also attended seven calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued 33 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 46 roadside breath tests.
