Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisations or community members in and around Cherbourg have been invited to come along next week to find out more about the Blue Card system.

Blue Card Services will be holding an informal session in Cherbourg on Wednesday, March 20, to explain the system.

It will be an opportunity to have a chat with staff member and get help making an application for a Blue Card.

The Blue Card system aims to minimise the risks of harm to children and young people in Queensland.

An assessment determines a person’s eligibility to work with children.

Having a Blue Card is compulsory for many jobs.

The information session will be held at the Winifred Fisher Indigenous Knowledge Centre in Barambah Avenue from 10:00am to noon.
