Just a week after a Kingaroy resident awoke to find a thief in their house in Macdiarmid Street, another house in the same street has been targeted.

On February 11, a resident awoke to find a youth in their house.

Startled, the thief ran off towards Jarrah Street taking two sets of car keys, a mobile phone and a purse with him.

On the latest occasion, a thief entered a Macdiarmid Street house via a laundry window at 2:10am on February 20.

The thief entered the dining room and stole two sets of keys which was then used to steal a vehicle located at the dwelling.

The vehicle was later found in Cherbourg.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are investigating an incident which occurred on February 19 in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy.

Police were called to a home after the front door was kicked in. The offender then entered the building and punched a hole into the bathroom door before running off with a group of people towards Booth Street.

At 2:50am on Sunday, a resident of a property in Edward Street, Kingaroy, was awake when they heard someone trying to open their front door. 

The resident yelled out and could see through the glass a figure standing at their front door.

The offender then ran towards a vehicle parked down the street. The resident opened the front door and saw a white LandCruiser drive away at speed towards King Street.

The offender was described as wearing a light-coloured cap.

  • At 4:30am on February 18,  police stopped a 29-year-old Kingaroy man on Queen Street, Kingaroy. The man voluntarily showed police the contents of this pockets however while doing so, police allege a small bag fell to ground which contained a small amount pills. Subsequently the man was arrested and searched with police allegedly finding further small amounts of presecription drugs including oxycodone and morphine. The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 1 charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of restricted drugs and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.
  • A 26-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrate Court on March 4 charged with possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis) after police searched a house in First Avenue on February 19.
  • A 28-year-old Runnymede man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with drug possession after police stopped and searched his Ford Falcon on Clark and Swendson Road, Kingaroy, at 11:30pm on February 19.  Police allegedly located a small amount of methamphetamine.
  • At 11:15pm on Friday, police saw a group of individuals on Somerset Street, Kingaroy, As the police approached group members allegedly threw away items and ran. An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with possessing dangerous drugs, obstructing police and possessing drug utensils.

Kingaroy police responded to a variety of incidents between February 18-24 including traffic, good order and property-related offences. They also attended five calls related to domestic violence, issued 20 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 166 roadside breath tests.
