Former Nanango State High School student Bree Pogany was presented with a $5000 bursary at a University of Southern Queensland ceremony on Thursday night.

Bree, who has moved to Ipswich to study aviation, was presented with the Arrow Energy “Go Further” Indigenous Tertiary Scholarship.

She said the bursary couldn’t have come at a better time.

“It has provided much-needed financial relief and allowed me to concentrate on preparing for my first semester of university,” she said.

“It’s an honour to receive this scholarship and will only motivate me to work harder and succeed.”

Arrow Energy has supported Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students with the Go Further scholarship since 2012.

“I’m proud to say that more than one Arrow scholar has been a first-in-family university student, which is proof that we have been able to make a difference,” Arrow spokesperson Leisa Elder said.

“On behalf of Arrow, I wish Bree all the best with her studies and a high-flying future.”
