A 27-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged after he allegedly tore pipes from a toilet wall in a Kingaroy hotel on January 25.

Police will allege the man entered the pub just before 9:00pm, walked into a toilet, grabbed some exposed pipes and pulled on them until they broke.

A person who heard the noise confronted the man, who then ran away from the hotel.

Police later charged a man with causing wilful damage and issued him with a banning notice.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 18.

The following night, police were called to another disturbance at a Kingaroy hotel.

A 29-year-old Burnett Heads man leaving the premises allegedly picked up a ceramic ashtray and threw it through a glass window.

He will also appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 18 charged with causing wilful damage.

Police are investigating the theft and arson of a Ford Ranger from Lorikeet Circuit in Kingaroy.

The vehicle was located on fire about midnight on January 27 in Wesslings Road near Cherbourg.

A 28-year-old Toowoomba man has been charged with unlawfully possessing a Category D, H or R weapon after police intercepted him in Clark and Swendson Road, Kingaroy, about 2:30pm on January 21.

A search allegedly located a taser disguised as a torch.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 4.

Police are investigating an incident which occurred on Harris Road last Monday night.

About 10:55pm, a vehicle was following a Hyundai Accent along the road with its high beams on.

It then overtook the Hyundai and a passenger threw a brick, smashing the Hyundai’s windscreen.

Kingaroy Police are also investigating a series of property offences:

  • At 10:30am on January 28, an unknown thief approached an unlocked vehicle parked on Avoca Street and stole a wallet from inside the vehicle.
  • At 9:20am on February 1, an unknown offender entered a dwelling on Carinya Street via an open back door and stole a mobile phone and purses. The resident heard movement and yelled out, startling the offender who is described as being a slim male wearing a light green hooded jumper.
  • At 7:00pm on February 1,  unknown offenders approached an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in Ivy Street. The offenders entered and searched the vehicle before running off.

At 8:35pm on January 27, police pulled over a blue Ford Falcon on Arthur Street in Kingaroy.

A search of the vehicle allegedly located drug-related material and a knife.

A 34-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 4 charged with possessing  a knife in a public place and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence.

A 28-year-old Toowoomba man will appear on the same day charged with  possessing dangerous drugs and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence.

Three drivers have been issued with $261 fines and have lost three points for allegedly speeding:

  • At 1:50pm on January 27, a 17-year-old Kingaroy man was stopped on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road for doing 116km/h in 100km/h zone.
  • At 8:20am on January 31, a 65-year-old Kingaroy man was stopped on Walter Road for doing 56km/h in a 40km/h school zone.
  • At 4:56pm on February 2, a 24-year-old Kingaroy man was stopped on the Bunya Highway for doing 114km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Officers from Kingaroy responded to a variety of incidents between January 25 and February 3 including traffic, good order, drug and property offences. Police also attended five domestic violence incidents, issued 37 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences, performed 128 roadside breath tests and six roadside drug tests.
