A man has been airlifted from Kingaroy Hospital to Brisbane after he was bitten by a snake on Thursday morning.

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to Kingaroy Hospital about 1:00pm.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the man was walking on a private property when he was bitten on the lower leg.

The species of snake is unknown, but LifeFlight Rescue’s critical care doctor said there were clear bite marks on the man’s leg.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

It is the second snake bite reported in the South Burnett within days.

On Saturday afternoon, a patient was transported by ambulance from Murgon to Kingaroy Hospital following a reported snakebite at a private residence.
