Police are investigating a series of thefts which have occurred in the Murgon, Wondai and Cherbourg areas recently.

On January 20:

  • Between 9:30pm and 10:50pm, thieves climbed a fence and threw pieces of concrete through a window to gain access to a business in Gore Street, Murgon, where they stole keys.
  • Between 11:00pm on January 20 and 7:00am on January 21, thieves stole various items from a vehicle parked at a property in Thompson Street, Murgon.

On January 21:

  • Between 9:00pm on January 21 and 5:30am on January 22, unknown offenders entered a vehicle in Bond Street, Cherbourg. They moved it about five metres before departing.
  • Between 3:30pm on January 21 and 10:15am on January 23, thieves stole tools from a business in Burrows Street, Wondai.

On January 22:

  • About 8:00pm, a resident in Haly Street, Wondai, found a man in her house. He removed personal items before departing.
  • About 6:50pm, a man stole a pushbike from the rear of a business in Haly Street, Wondai.

On January 25:

  • Between 8:30am and 7:30pm, thieves stole personal items from a house in Gore Street, Murgon.

Officers from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai responded to a variety of incidents between January 18-25. These incidents included drug, traffic and property offences. During this period, police also attended 14 calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued 10 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 220 roadside breath tests.
