The Christmas Road Safety campaign is just four days old but already Kingaroy police have charged three people with drink-driving.
Another two will face charges of drug-driving.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said the result was disappointing, especially taking into account the weather at the weekend.
Since the Christmas Road Safety campaign kicked off, Kingaroy police have conducted 71 roadside breath tests.
One driver, a 23-year-old Kingaroy man, was allegedly more than three times over the legal limit (0.152 BAC) when he was stopped by police on River Road on Sunday afternoon.
He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 21 charged with drink driving, unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
Police also issued 15 tickets for life-endangering offences during the past four days, including seven speeding fines and five mobile phone-related infringements .
