Kingaroy police have charged a man following an incident in Railway Terrace on Tuesday afternoon.
Police will allege that about 12:50pm a man armed with a machete and an axe entered the front yard of a property on Railway Terrace.
When challenged by the residents, he fled along Gladys Street.
He was located by police in Kingaroy Street a short time later.
An axe and machete were allegedly found nearby.
A 32-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with going armed to cause fear, assault and trespass.
He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
