South Burnett Regional Council has scheduled work to begin this week on the replacement of a water main in Reen Street, Kingaroy.
The project, due to begin on Wednesday, is expected to be completed by January 18, weather permitting.
The water supply will be disrupted about January 15 to allow the new main to be cut in, but residents will be notified in advance.
A Council spokesperson said the work was being carried out as part of routine maintenance.
Machinery would be used during the project and residents should exercise caution if they were near the work site.
