Detectives investigating the stabbing of a man in Gympie on Wednesday night have released an image of a vehicle they believe may be connected to the attack.

A 25-year-old Glastonbury man has already been charged and remanded in custody over the incident, but police are hunting a second suspect.

This second man is described as Caucasian, 25 years old, about 189cm tall with short brown hair.

He is believed to be driving a silver 2009 Holden Commodore utility with Queensland registration 807-TGS.

Members of the public have been advised to NOT approach the vehicle but to immediately call police on Triple Zero (000) if it is sighted, as the man may be armed.
