Two new 1st Year police constables reported for their first shifts in Kingaroy on Wednesday.

Constable Julian Pascoe, from the Sunshine Coast, and Constable Bethany Rogerson, from Tamborine Mountain, will be based in Kingaroy for at least a year.

They have just completed six months’ training at the Police Academy in Oxley and will be accompanied on patrol by experienced officers as they learn the ropes.

Constable Pascoe said he had always been fascinated with forensic science and had joined the Queensland Police as a way to eventually serve as a Scenes Of Crime officer.

Constable Rogerson’s reasons were more traditional.

“I joined to help people, to have a job that is different every day,” she said.

She said she was particularly interested in community policing.
