The Subway shop in Kingaroy will be joining in with fellow stores across Australia in a “Live Feed” promotion on Friday (November 2) to help Foodbank Australia.
To celebrate World Sandwich Day, every customer who buys a roll, salad or wrap at the Kingaroy Subway store on the day will get another one free for a friend, and Subway will donate the cost of a meal to Foodbank.
This is the second year Subway Australia has partnered with Foodbank.
In 2017 on World Sandwich Day, 13 million meals were donated globally, including 280,000 meals in Australia alone.
The restaurants are aiming to donate more than 300,000 meals this year.
Every year, Foodbank delivers more than 63 million meals to Australians seeking hunger relief through the help of farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and thousands of volunteers.
Foodbank CEO Brianna Casey said she was delighted to be part of Subway’s largest fundraising event.
Subway stores in 60 other countries will also be taking part, assisting local charities.
Every meal donated on World Sandwich Day will be tracked through a digital ticker on SubwayLiveFeed.com.au
