The committee that organises the annual South Burnett Community Family Fun Day had a pleasant surprise when they held their regular meeting last Thursday night.
South Burnett photographer Kate Oram from Marogallery presented the group with a cheque for $275, which she raised from online sales of photos she snapped at the August event.
Committee chairman Cardell Turner said the unexpected bonus would go to RACQ LifeFlight, along with the estimated $17,600 this year’s event raised.
The Family Fun Day was held at Kingaroy Showgrounds on August 17-18, kicking off with a gala dinner on Friday night, followed by a full day of activities on Saturday that included athletic competitions, celebrity dunking, demonstrations and live entertainment.
Kate, who only moved to the South Burnett recently, shot photos on the day and said she would donate any sales to the organisers.
“I’d like to make sure the people who purchased these photos are given the recognition they deserve for supporting my effort to help raise funds for LifeFlight,” Kate said.
