Nine people were injured – three critically – in a head-on crash on the D’Aguilar Highway near Wamuran on Thursday night.

Initial investigations indicate about 8:10pm, a vehicle heading east and a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction collided.

Three children and six adults were transported to the Lady Cilento Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Three of the injured were in a critical condition.

The highway was blocked in both directions while emergency services responded to the incident.

The highway reopened about 11:00pm.

Any members of the public who witnessed the incident or who have relevant dashcam footage have been requested to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

A person was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition after a single vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway near Nanango on Thursday night.

The vehicle left the road and smashed into a tree.

The incident occurred about 9:30pm.
