Blackbutt District Community Organisation (BDCO) held its inaugural Putt-a-Putt event at the Blackbutt Golf Club on Sunday.

Golfers consisted of nine teams of four who had a fun-filled day and every team walked away with prizes.

There were about 60 people at the event with prizes of cash and vouchers to a value of $1200 up for grabs.

Blackbutt Golf Club members were stationed at the various holes and also drove the teams around the golf course to the putting greens as well as providing refreshments and a hamburger lunch.

Cr Gavin Jones, BDCO president Brenda Proctor and vice-president Nev Lawrence awarded the prizes during lunch.

Nev said it was great day out and there was lots of enthusiasm to have the event again next year.

Winners on the day were:

  • 1st – $300 to Blackbutt Singers’ Nanango team
  • 2nd – Bendigo Bank, representing the Blackbutt Gardens & Park Project
  • 3rd – Blackbutt Helping Hands

NAGA prize was given to the Blackbutt Tennis Club.

Other winners on the day:

  • Hole-in-One – Elaine Ballin and Pauline Boike
  • Best scores to Keith Carroll and David Eaton
  • Encouragement award – Bev Profke

Each of the nine teams also received a voucher from one of the Blackbutt business sponsors.

The major sponsors were: Bendigo Community Bank, BDCO Inc, Grant Duston Carpentry Services, and Andy & Margo Box.

Hole sponsors were: IGA Blackbutt, Blackbutt Medical Centre, Blackbutt Fuel and Tyre, Bunya Nut Café, Blackbutt Hardware, Dream Beauty, Walkabout Nursery, Blackbutt Smash Repairs, and the Hotel Radnor.
