A man has been charged after police were called to a disturbance in the casualty department at Kingaroy Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 32-year-old Gayndah man was allegedly abusing hospital staff.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22 charged with causing a public nuisance on health services land.

Investigations are continuing into the theft of two tyres and fuel from a vehicle on River Road, Kingaroy, on Thursday night.

Unknown persons entered a yard by cutting a rear fence.

Between 8:30am and 3:30pm on Friday,  unknown persons smashed a window on the rear canopy of Mazda utility  parked behind a George Street, Kingaroy, business.

Police on patrol last Tuesday evening (September 25) in Edward Street, Kingaroy, say they observed a Toyota sedan make a right-hand turn at speed in wet conditions.

The vehicle began to slide sideways in both directions before turning sharply off Edward Street through a vacant yard on to Freemans Lane.

Police intercepted the vehicle and the driver, a 29-year-old Murgon man, allegedly tested positive at a roadside breath test (0.025 BAC on a zero limit).

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 5, charged with failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle and driving over the no alcohol limit.

On Wednesday at 4:10pm, a two-vehicle traffic crash occurred at the intersection of John and King streets, Kingaroy.

Police allege a Toyota being driven by a 64-year-old Nanango man on John Street failed to give way to another Toyota travelling north on King Street.

No one was injured in the crash.

The first driver was issued with a traffic infringement notice.

Police were called to a Haly Street business last Thursday morning after a dispute over purchased goods allegedly turned nasty.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said a 57-year-old Proston man had sought a refund.

“When this was refused he behaved in a disorderly manner,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.

“The man became irate and grabbed the property and has thrown it to the ground before stomping on the box three times.

“He has then picked the box up off the ground, slamming it on to the counter with excessive force, causing the staff members to jump backwards.”

The man then left the store.

The man was issued with an infringement notice for committing a public nuisance.

Kingaroy police have charged several people with unrelated drugs offences:

Last Tuesday (September 25), police executed a search warrant at an Albert Street address at 8:00am.

A 41-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with unlawfully possessing a controlled drug (Viagra), possessing a dangerous drug (cannabis), possessing drug utensils and possession of property suspected of being used in commission of a drug offence.

A 19-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with possessing a dangerous drug, possessing drug utensils, possession of property suspected of being used in commission of a drug offence and unlawfully possessing category M weapons (knives, including a flick knife).

Both men are due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 5.

On Saturday,  police searched a Murphy Street house.

A 31-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with unlawfully possessing a controlled drug, possessing a drug utensil and possessing property suspected of being stolen.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 15.

On Thursday evening,  police stopped a Nissan hatchback on Somerset Street, Kingaroy, being driven by a 39-year-old Kingaroy man.

A search allegedly located a small amount of amphetamine.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22 charged with possessing a dangerous drug.

On Saturday afternoon, police intercepted a 35-year-old Murgon man driving a Hyundai sedan in Haly Street, Kingaroy.

A search of the vehicle allegedly located a used syringe.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22, charged with failing to properly dispose of a syringe.

A 79-year-old Wondai man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 5 charged with drink-driving after his Toyota was stopped by police for a roadside breath test on the Bunya Highway at Crawford last Tuesday (September 25). He allegedly recorded a BAC of 0.095.

Also on Tuesday, police stopped a Holden on Haly Street.  The driver, a 30-year-old Kingaroy woman, allegedly returned a positive sample to a Roadside Drug Test. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 3 charged with drug driving and driving whilst unlicensed.

On Sunday, police stopped a Ford sedan at 1:50am in Haly Street. The driver, an 18-year-old Murgon man, allegedly returned a positive breath sample of (0.085 BAC).  He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22 charged with driving over the general alcohol limit.

On Tuesday (September 25),  police pulled over a 34-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Ford station wagon. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22, charged with repeat unlicensed driving.

Officers from Kingaroy responded to a variety of incidents between September 24-30 within the Kingaroy Police Division.

These included drug offences, traffic offences and property offences.

Police also attended seven calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued 12 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 151 RBTs.
