Police are investigating a string of fires that were lit along the road leading into Cherbourg about midnight on Thursday.

Firefighters extinguished about five fires that appeared to have been lit consecutively.

Police who attended the scene were abused by an unknown man who decamped into bushland.

They are calling for any witnesses from a nearby birthday party who may be able to provide assistance to identify this unknown man.

About 1:00am on Thursday, police spotted two juveniles riding an unregistered and uninsured motorbike on a road in Cherbourg.

The two, aged 14 and 16, were arrested a short time later at an address in Cherbourg.

About 6:00pm on Saturday, a vehicle collided with the rear trailer of a truck in Wondai.

The driver of the vehicle received minor cuts and abrasions while the driver of the truck suffered no injuries.

Over the past couple of days, a number of graffiti tags have been appearing on vehicles and signs around Murgon.

Murgon police have been kept busy with a number of drug-related incidents in the area.

About 8:00pm on Friday night, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Cherbourg. He has been charged with possessing drug utensils and will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 2.

About 1:00am on Friday morning, a 22-year-old man was pulled over by police in Wondai. A search of his vehicle allegedly located drug utensils and a quantity of methamphetamine.

He will appear in the Murgon Magistrates Court on October 30.

About 7:00pm on Saturday, police were called to a disturbance at a Cherbourg address.

A number of windows had been smashed at a house.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested. She is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 16.

Two hours later, police were called to a street disturbance in Cherbourg where two men aged 30 and 43 were allegedly fighting.

They were arrested and charged with public nuisance, and are also due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 16.

A 25-year-old women will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court next month to face a charge of disqualified driving after she was stopped by Murgon police at 6:00pm on Sunday.

Over the past few days, police from Murgon and Cherbourg have also attended several domestic violence incidents and conducted 18 RBTs.
