South Burnett not-for-profit community groups looking for grant funding are being encouraged to attend a special workshop this Wednesday, September 19.

The Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) will be holding the workshop at the Kingaroy Town Hall supper room from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm said extremely valuable information will be shared at the workshop, which BIEDO hope to run on a quarterly basis in future.

Members of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund committee – the largest grant funding program for not-for-profit organisations in Queensland – will be attending Wednesday night’s meeting.

They will present an overview of eligibility requirements, and how to apply to the funding program.

The workshop will also provide useful links to tools and resources that will help community organisations plan their grant applications, along with information about where look for grant funding opportunities.

The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is also encouraging all not-for-profit groups to attend.

“It’s a great opportunity for our region to learn how to apply for much-needed funding,” KCCI president Rob Fitz-Herbert said.

The workshop costs $10 to attend.

This includes a light supper, and attendees should RSVP to 0400-695-456 by Monday, September 17 to help plan the catering.
