Thieves have targeted the Sandy Ridges Rural Fire Brigade, stealing cash and goods from their fire shed on the Burnett Highway, about 20km north of Nanango.

The incident occurred between 6:00pm on August 28 and 11:00am on Sunday.

A Stihl chainsaw, a red Nokia mobile phone and money from a petty cash tin were taken.

A 22-year-old Nanango man has been arrested and charged after police stopped a vehicle on Henry Street, Nanango, on Saturday afternoon.

A Nanango Police spokesman said computer system checks revealed the man was currently unlicensed due to a court disqualification, and was also under court-imposed bail conditions not to drive a motor vehicle.

The man was charged with unlicensed driving and breaching a bail condition. Police opposed bail.

He was due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates court on Monday.

On Sunday, a Blackbutt man lost his wallet between 11:00am and noon in Henry Street, Nanango.
