Detectives investigating the armed robbery of Ryke Fuel in Kingaroy on Sunday night have released video and images of two people who may be able to help with their inquiries.

The pair walked into the Youngman Street business just before 11:00pm armed with a garden tool and demanded money from the male attendant.

The employee refused.

When the pair attempted to leave the premises, the main glass door locked, causing them to be stuck inside.

One of them then grabbed a fire extinguisher off the wall and smashed a freezer before the second used it to smash a glass door and a large glass window.

The pair then crawled through a hole in the glass with a stolen charity tin before leaving in a black 2011 Ford Fiesta which had been parked at the back of the service station.

The Fiesta is believed to have been stolen from a Murgon address earlier on Sunday.

The employee was not injured during the incident.

About 11:20pm, the same pair broke into the Fitzroy Hotel in Nanango and stole a number of bottles of alcohol.

They were also captured on CCTV during this incident.

Anyone who recognises the people in the CCTV images – or who spots the stolen Ford Fiesta – is urged to contact Kingaroy Police on (07) 4160-4900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.

Ryke Fuel was the target of three armed robberies in 2016 but since then security measures at the site have been significantly upgraded.
