Kingaroy Police will be presenting their first “Under the Bonnet – Safer Driving for Women” workshop on Wednesday, September 9.

The workshop aims to provide women of all ages with an opportunity to learn about personal and road safety, and basic car maintenance skills.

The workshop, at Bill Hull Car Centre, is free but places are limited so bookings are necessary.

The workshop will also provide information on the Fatal Five:

  • Speeding;
  • Seatbelts;
  • Drink and drug driving;
  • Fatigue; and
  • Distraction.

Experienced mechanics will demonstrate how to change a tyre and check oil levels as well as share basic car maintenance tips.

The personal and road safety talks will be held by Constable Jemma Grant and Constable Nathan Bond.
