A vehicle pulling a caravan has been blamed for a crash which occurred at St Aubyn, just south of Cooyar, on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Constable Bill Worden, from Cooyar Police, said a vehicle towing a caravan was overtaken by another vehicle, also towing a caravan, about 12:45pm.

Both vehicles were heading south along the New England Highway, towards Crows Nest.

During the overtaking manoeuvre, the van behind the second vehicle apparently swung out, bumping the caravan behind the first vehicle.

This caused the driver of the first vehicle to lose control, run off the road and overturn.

“The overtaking caravan failed to stop,” Snr Constable Worden said.

The overtaking caravan is believed to have the word “Winnebago” written on it.

Snr Constable Worden said anyone with information about the incident should contact Cooyar Police on (07) 4612-5055.
