Mat Chigwidden and Andrew Moore … sharing their love of skateboarding

July 9, 2018

The generosity of the skateboarding community has helped a bunch of Murgon and Cherbourg kids to get gnarly.

Well-known Sunshine Coast skate coach Mat Chigwidden, from “Chiggy’s Skateboarding”, put out a call on social media for people willing to donate their old decks for a good cause.

The result was on show at the Murgon Skate Park on Monday afternoon.

Chiggy and mate Andrew Moore brought along about 40 boards to give to local children.

They also put on a display of top-level skating.

The kids watched Chiggy get air on the ramps, and learned some new tricks to try out on their own.

There was also a mini-workshop to repair some of the donated decks.

CTC Youth Services put on a sausage sizzle to top off the holiday treat for the kids (and their parents) .
